Terms of use

By using the Lybance app or website (lybance.com and lybance.ly) you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be at least 18 to create an account.

1. Free public information, not advice

Lybance is an information service. Prices, news and analysis are general information gathered from publicly available sources and are indicative only.

• Prices may differ from the actual price at any exchanger, bank or trader, and may be delayed, inaccurate or incomplete.
• Nothing in the service is an offer to buy or sell, or financial, investment, legal or religious advice. Analysis and forecasts are automatic calculations and guarantee nothing.
• Calculators (including zakat) are aids based on what you enter and on indicative prices. Consult a qualified person before any decision.
• You alone are responsible for your decisions and transactions.

2. Lybance carries out no financial transactions

Lybance does not buy, sell or transfer currency, holds no one's money, and is not a bank, exchanger or broker. Lybance is not affiliated with the Central Bank of Libya, any bank or any government body; mentioning their names implies no partnership or endorsement.

3. Sources, news and their owners' rights

News belongs to its publishers. We show the headline, the publisher's name, the time and a link to the full story on the publisher's site; we do not copy the article. All trademarks, names and logos belong to their owners. Details and removal requests: Sources and credits.

4. Exchange Office System

The Exchange Office System is only for businesses that are legally registered and hold a valid licence from the competent authorities to carry out currency exchange.

• By using it you confirm that your business is registered and licensed under the applicable laws, and that you are responsible for complying with them, including Central Bank of Libya rules, anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorist-financing rules, customer identification, record keeping and tax.
• The system is a tool to record and organise your transactions, print receipts and prepare reports. It makes no transfer or payment and does not check whether any transaction you record is lawful.
• You are responsible for what you record, for any customer data you enter and your right to enter it, and for keeping copies of your records.
• Using the system for any unlawful activity is forbidden. We may suspend any account we suspect breaks these terms and cooperate with the authorities where the law requires.

5. Accounts

You sign in with your phone number or email and a PIN you choose. Keep your PIN secret; you are responsible for activity on your account. You can delete your account and data at any time in the app or on this page.

6. Plans, codes and payment

• The free service is always available. Free days are given once per person, and the welcome code is for first-time use only and has no cash value.
• A paid plan starts once the Lybance office confirms payment (cash or transfer). "Pay once" means use of the system for as long as Lybance provides the service, not ownership of the software or its code.
• Prices and features may change; this does not affect a period you have paid for. Payments are not refundable except where the law requires.
• In App Store and Google Play builds, the store's rules apply to any in-app payment.

7. Acceptable use

You may not scrape, resell or republish prices or data as a competing service, try to break into, disrupt or reverse-engineer the service, impersonate anyone, or use the service unlawfully.

8. Intellectual property

The app, its design, logo, text and the way prices are gathered and processed belong to Lybance. You may use it for your personal purposes or your business only.

9. Service "as is"

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a purpose, or uninterrupted, error-free operation. We may change or stop any part of it at any time.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Lybance, its owners and staff are not liable for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage, including lost profits, data or business, arising from using, relying on or being unable to use the service, from errors in prices, news or sources, or from the acts of any third party. In any case our total liability will not exceed what you paid us in the three months before the claim, or 100 Libyan dinars if you paid nothing.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Lybance harmless from any claim or loss arising from your breach of these terms or the law, or from your business or the records you enter.

12. Third-party services

We use third-party services such as WhatsApp and Facebook (Meta), Apple, Google, an email provider and a notification provider; their terms apply when you use them. We are not responsible for publishers' sites you open from the news. On iOS, Apple's standard licensed application end user licence agreement also applies, and Apple has no responsibility for the app or its support.

13. Changes and suspension

We may update these terms and will change the date below. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it. We may suspend any account that breaks these terms.
